Finally there is a budget minded Audio Video (AV) receiver with high end features such as Dolby TrueHD and DTS-Master Audio decoding, upscaling of all video sources (less than 1080p) to 1080p and the latest in HDMI 1.3a capabilities. The Sony® 7.1 Channel Home Theater Surround Sound Audio Video Receiver is optimized to work with Blu-ray Disc™ and is capable of one button operations with select Sony Bravia® televisions using Bravia Sync technology. The STR-DGDG920 receiver will accept 1080/24p HD video formats, x.v.Color (xvYCC) and Deep Color. Using a supplied microphone, Digital Cinema Auto Calibration takes the guesswork out of creating the ideal sound. Not only will you be able to connect your Blu-ray player and other standard audio equipment such as DVD players and CD players, but using the DIGITAL MEDIA PORT (DMP) you can connect other devices such as your iPod®, Walkman® or even your computer. If that wasn't enough, the receiver is XM satellite radio ready. Sony has engineered this product to be the entertainment hub for your total HD experience.

Optimized for Blu-ray Disc™ and most HD SourcesSony's A/V Receivers are engineered to be the ideal Blu-ray Disc A/V receiver, fully compatible with Sony® Blu-ray Disc Players. Superior video switching and audio performance ensure seamless compatibility with today's demanding HD sources. The STR-DG920 supports Linear PCM and has four High Definition Media Interface™ (HDMI™) inputs that are capable of accepting resolutions up to 1080p, offering the full video quality that Blu-ray Disc format can deliver.
Once your components are connected to the receiver, it's time to connect your speakers (sold separately). This receiver allows you to use a 7.1 channel speaker system. To enjoy theater-like multi-channel surround sound fully, you'll need five speakers: two front speakers, a center speaker, and two surround speakers, as well as a subwoofer. You can enjoy high-fidelity reproduction of DVD software recorded in the Surround EX format if you connect one or two additional surround back speakers. Speaker cable is sold separately. Follow the instructions on the on-screen menu to set up your speakers, setting the specific distance from the listening position to the speakers and adjusting the speaker levels and balance.
BRAVIA® Sync™As a leader in products with HDMI connectivity, Sony has created BRAVIA Sync technology to go beyond simple audio and video transmission. This receiver will transmit control functions to a select number of BRAVIA LCD televisions as well as new DVD players in the Sony line. With One Touch Play, operations that took several steps have been reduced to one. Press the PLAY button on the remote, watch the A/V receiver turn on, then the DVD player power on and start to play, finally the BRAVIA television turns on and switches to the correct video input. Simple...Easy...BRAVIA Sync.
