Listen to satellite radio, AM/FM radio or even weather band radio from any room connected to your audio distribution system. Gangable to a maximum of three tuners, the NuVo XM and AM-FM-Weather Tuner is an advanced tuner that provides clear AM, FM and XM satellite reception and even displays artist and song information on its front panel. A remote control is included. XM Satellite radio service is required and is available for a monthly fee.

The NuVo XM and AM-FM-Weather Tuner offers a wide variety of controls. Preset 10 stations in each of 10 station banks using any of the available bands, and then group them according to specific genres. You can scan each of your preset stations, seek up and down the frequency bands to find clear stations or tune up and down the bands to search for specific stations. Tuning can also be done via the numeric buttons on the front panel. You can even scan within your programmed genre categories.
The vivid two-line display indicates the band AM, FM, WX (Weatherband) or XM and station frequency, along with customized preset information, or RDS (Radio Data Service) information. Broadcasters can use the RDS format to send artist and song information with their broadcast. If a station is broadcasting RDS, the NuVo XM and AM-FM-Weather Tuner will automatically scroll what is being received. You can even store a specific display for future reference, should you need to recall specific RDS information at a later time. Since two tuners can be active at once, different rooms connected to your NuVo system will be able to toggle the source button among the available modes: AM, FM, weatherband, and XM input.
XM Satellite Radio offers over 150 channels of music, news, sports, talk and entertainment, with all 67 music channels 100-percent commercial free. By subscribing to XM radio and connecting the NuVo XM and AM-FM-Weather Tuner, you'll be able to experience XM radio's coast-to-coast coverage in digital quality audio.
The NuVo XM and AM-FM-Weather Tuner utilizes Interference Adaptive Signal Processing (IASP) circuitry, and in addition to the XM antenna, it ships with a proprietary amplified AM/FM antenna, which can deliver crystal-clear reception up to 200 feet from the tuner location. Once connected, the NuVo XM and AM-FM-Weather Tuner should immediately receive broadcast signals and RDS when it is available. A 6-foot pre-terminated coaxial cable is included; longer runs of coax cable are sold separately.
The NuVo XM and AM-FM-Weather Tuner is compatible with any audio system that is capable of repeating IR, as it is designed for IR control via infrared signals received by an audio distribution system. In the NuVo Simplese, Simplese D, or Essentia audio distribution systems (sold separately), the IR emitter outputs act as a repeater to IR signals incident on the system keypads; no external IR emitters are required.
The NuVo XM and AM-FM-Weather Tuner's auxiliary audio input will accept an audio signal from an external component. The auxiliary input requires a standard RCA cable for the connection (included). The mini jack labeled "IR pass-thru" mini connection is used for connecting forwarded IR signals to an audio component connected to the auxiliary audio input.
If you have a NuVo Concerto (sold separately), the NuVo XM and AM-FM-Weather Tuner can provide direct, real-time communication across NuVoNet, the Concerto's complete system communication protocol. You'll have access to the NuVo XM and AM-FM-Weather Tuner through your Concerto Display Keypads throughout your home as well as access to RDS streaming artist/selection information in real time.
The NuVo XM and AM-FM-Weather Tuner package includes the Plug-N-Play setup software designed to move you quickly through the tuner's setup options. Once set, just download the configuration to your NuVo XM and AM-FM-Weather Tuner; Ethernet and RS-232 cables are included.
The fine-tuning feature enables tuning with a smaller frequency step to include more station frequency possibilities, which may be used in areas allowing many low-power broadcast stations, down to .05 MHz increments for FM and 1 kHz steps for AM. Additional controls include adjustable brightness, bass and treble equalizers, and balance control.
Not interested in XM radio yet? Try the Dual AM/FM/Weather Tuner instead. A Dual XM Tuner is also available for homes requiring access to multiple XM stations at once. Since the NuVo systems will support up to three of these rack-mounted tuners, feel free to mix and match!
