- Perfect for anyone building a custom entertainment center
Essential Info
This sensor installs just like any other IR sensor but can be placed within inches of any plasma screen television and offers 100% reliable control of any IR system up to 40 KHz. If your remote is on the higher 56 KHz band, use the Plasma-Proof 40KHz & 56KHz IR Target, instead. Plasma televisions and monitors are notorious for emitting a tremendous amount of EMI and RFI emissions from their surfaces. These emissions involve so many frequencies at such intense levels that traditional IR sensors are not able to distinguish between the remote control's IR commands and the overwhelming amount of background noise in the room.

Plasma-Proof Hidden IR Sensor - X40-HW-PP

More Info
|
The IR sensor is relatively small (about 1/2" x 13/16") and has a 3.5mm male stereo connector at the end of a 6' cable. This connects to the "control unit" which then breaks it out into 3-wires. These wires can connect to a Xantech compatible IR distribution system (sold separately).
If you do not have or do not plan to have a plasma TV, we recommend you use the standard Hidden IR Sensor.
The unit described above works with nearly all IR systems, except those with specialized high-frequency IR systems, like B&O equipment, which requires a proprietary confirmation talk-back function.
