The corrosive effects of water and the outdoor elements limit the amount of exposure a standard monitor can take. However, with the 42" Weatherproof LCD HDTV/PC Monitor by Nanov Display, you can now watch and listen to your favorite movies or programs almost anywhere. This product can be used in rainy, wet, damp or steamy conditions without the worry of deterioration over time. You can feel comfortable mounting one on your patio, by your pool and spa, or even installing one on your boat. This product also offers the added benefits of operating as a high definition television (HDTV) and as a monitor for your PC at the same time. The Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) screen has connections available to support a multitude of devices, from an HDTV receiver, cable box, DVD player, gaming system or home computer. You can manually adjust the settings with control buttons on the front of the unit or with a water resistant IR remote control that floats. Manufactured to high weatherproofing and safety standards, it is designed to entertain at home, in the backyard, or on the boat.

Ingress Protection Rating
Ingress Protection (IP) as it relates to sealing against the entry of solid and liquid objects. Complete details of this standard can be obtained from the IEC. This uniform and widely acknowledged classification system provides equipment designers and specifying agents with a convenient and reliable method of comparing relative levels of sealing between competing (connector) products. In its simplest form, the classification system consists of the letters "IP" followed by two separate digits, which denote increasingly greater sealing from solid objects and from water.
The 42" Weatherproof LCD HDTV/PC Monitor has a rating of IP54. The number '5' refers to the degree of protection against access to hazardous parts and ingress of solid objects. 5 is the second highest protection, described as "dust does not enter in sufficient quantity to interfere with satisfactory operation of equipment". The number '4' refers to the degree of protection against the ingress of water. '4' is protected against splashing water, described as, "Water splashing against the enclosure from any direction shall have no harmful effect."
Conformal Coating
For an added layer of protection, conformal coating has been added to the 42" Outdoor Weatherproof LCD/PC HDTV Monitor. Material is applied to electronic circuitry to act as protection against moisture, dust, chemicals and temperature extremes. Without this coating an unprotected electronic deivce may experiencecomplete failure.
