INSTEON Wire-in Dimmer Scene Lighting Starter Kit — Our Most Popular Lighting Control System Fill your entire home with personalized mood lighting for any occasion. Easily control your entire house's lighting design with the INSTEON Wire-in Dimmer Scene Lighting Starter Kit, which includes one INSTEON ControLinc Tabletop Controller, two INSTEON SwitchLinc Dimmers, and two INSTEON Access Points. This starter kit will allow you to control lights individually or multiple lights together as "scenes." You can even link the SwitchLincs to a LampLinc (sold separately) to turn on a plug-in lamp when you turn on the switched light. For maximum ease of use, link the SwitchLinc and LampLinc to a button on the included ControLinc and control both the room light and lamp from the comfort of your favorite chair. You can even link two SwitchLincs together to control a single light from two different locations, like standard 3-way switches normally located at the top and bottom of the stairs, without using the traveler wire. You can control up to five INSTEON-compatible devices or sets of devices with the tabletop ControLinc. The INSTEON Wire-in Dimmer Scene Lighting Starter Kit's switches can control incandescent bulbs, low-voltage halogen (e.g. track), and other low-voltage lights with magnetic or dimmable electronic transformers. If you need to control a fluorescent light fixture or a non-dimmable appliance, use an INSTEON SwitchLinc Relay (Non-Dimming), the perfect addition to your starter kit. An INSTEON LampLinc (3-Pin) plug-in dimmer or INSTEON ApplianceLinc (3-Pin) plug-in on/off switch can be added to control any plug-in lamps or appliances that you want to use in your INSTEON lighting-control system. Easy To InstallThe INSTEON Wire-in Dimmer Scene Lighting Starter Kit is so easy to install and set up and yet so affordable, you'll want to change all of your switches to new INSTEON-compatible switches, allowing all of your lights and appliances to benefit from your new INSTEON automated lighting system. Just remove the old switches and reattach the new switch's line, load, ground, and neutral wires using the included wire nuts, and you're almost done. Plug in the Access Points to join the phases of your existing electrical wiring to ensure INSTEON network reliability, and then you'll be able to start linking devices and setting brightness levels and ramp rates that create awesome lighting scenes like "Movie Time," "Party," "Romance," etc., that help you to enjoy the overall desired experience. INSTEON SwitchLinc Dimmer The SwitchLinc Dimmer has 32 brightness levels and a ramp rate that can be set from .01 to 9 seconds locally, which helps with getting your lights to the perfect intensity. The dimmer can be a member of more than 400 scenes, which you'll be able to launch with a single button press. A built-in elegant brightness bar of 8 white LEDs indicates the current brightness of the lights being controlled. The dimmer supports 3-, 4-, or 5-way circuits for maximum flexibility. ControLincThe ControLinc is an easy-to-set-up and -use plug-in tabletop controller. You can control up to five individual INSTEON-compatible devices or sets of devices with the tabletop ControLinc, which has a total of 14 buttons. Five sets of buttons turn on and off your INSTEON-compatible devices. The "all on" and "all off" buttons can control all devices linked to any of the five on/off buttons. "Brighten" and "dim" will adjust the brightness level of the any linked INSTEON wall dimmers or plug-in lamp dimmers. Have a look at the INSTEON ControLinc Tabletop Controller in more detail.
Access PointThe Access Point is the most important part of the INSTEON network. Access Points create your dual-mesh INSTEON network by simultaneously transmitting and receiving INSTEON messages across both radio frequency and your home's existing electrical wiring. When used as a pair, the Access Points couple the two different electrical phases of your home's AC lines. This provides maximum reliability to ensure your message will reach its intended INSTEON device. Beautiful, High-Quality ConstructionUnlike other switches, the Linc line switches offer the natural feel of high-end switches. You'll love the crisp, tactile response with each touch instead of the mushy feeling of other brands. The Linc line switches are designed and manufactured to high-end specifications and go through over 10 quality-control tests before arriving at your doorstep. Trim paddles are available and sold separately. Choose the color that best suits your room's decor: Almond, Black, Brown, or Grey. Two paddles are included in each color-change set. Don't forget to order a matching wall plate.
Flexible SetupSwitchLinc dimmer switches give you tremendous flexibility with controlling your lighting system. Other switches only provide an on/off function, but each Linc line switch can perform up to four different functions. Press the top once for ON; press the bottom for OFF. Press and hold ON to brighten; press and hold OFF to dim.
