Essential Info
If you already own the original INSTEON HouseLinc Desktop Software and a PowerLinc Controller (PLC), you can upgrade to the all new HouseLinc 2 - INSTEON Desktop Software w/USB Interface, for free! This program lets you continue to control your INSTEON home network with no down time. If you prefer a serial connection, INSTEON HouseLinc 2 Upgrade, Serial is available separately. Important Note: For original HouseLinc Desktop Software Owners, please do not uninstall your original HouseLinc software until you have installed and imported all of your existing devices into HouseLinc 2.
Note: Your PC will need to remain on in order to execute timed commands and triggered events. HouseLinc 2 INSTEON Desktop Software w/USB Interface does not download to the PowerLinc Modem.For a comparison between the original HouseLinc Desktop Software and HouseLinc 2, see the HouseLinc 2 release notes. Here's how it works:Order the INSTEON HouseLinc 2 Upgrade, USB
Upon receipt, install the HouseLinc 2-enabled PowerLinc Modem (PLM) and then the HouseLinc 2 software to immediately take advantage of the enhanced features
Complete the rebate form and mail it back to Smarthome along with your old PLC
Within six weeks of Smarthome receiving your return, a refund will be issued to you in the full amount of the upgrade cost (less shipping)
Note: To take advantage of this rebate, you must have purchased your existing PLC and original HouseLinc software through Smarthome. If you purchased it elsewhere, you must go through that supplier. Alternatively, you can purchase a new HouseLinc 2 - INSTEON Desktop Software w/USB Interface or if you prefer a serial connection, HouseLinc 2 - INSTEON Desktop Software w/Serial Interface is also available.
INSTEON HouseLinc 2 Upgrade, USB

Create scenes and timed events for lights and appliances that are controlled by your INSTEON-compatible or X10-compatible devices. This kit comes with everything you need: HouseLinc 2 software, a HouseLinc 2-enabled PowerLinc Modem, a USB cable, and a rebate form.
Several improvements have been made to the original INSTEON HouseLinc Desktop Software. Some of these new features include: background link management, improved INSTEON product support, and a new look and feel.
