Essential Info
Turn your Windows XP Media Center Edition PC into a home automation control center and media serving device. With ControlWare, any device capable of displaying a browser can become a portal through which you can control and manage any number of devices that can be automated using one or several of today's leading communications protocols. A Windows XP Media Center PC running ControlWare that is connected to a communication interface via serial or USB connection can send INSTEON, Z-Wave, UPB and IR commands to control the lighting, HVAC and media systems in your home.
Superna's open architecture and standards support give you the freedom to use one or several automation control protocols in conjunction with your computer to provide complete home control over your existing wired or wireless network.

ControlWare for Windows XP Media Center EditionControlWare will expand your digital living experience beyond media, by allowing you to control your devices and systems from your MCE TV display. ControlWare also turns your Media Center PC into a home theater controller by connecting devices directly to the USB or serial ports of your Media Center PC. With ControlWare, your MCE remote is the entertainment center portal!
Stream your digital media files from any computer or Media Center PC on the home network to any other PC using the Superna ControlWare. Superna ControlWare software is also available for PDAs and PCs.
Home Control and AutomationUse the serial and/or USB connectors on any PC running ControlWare software to connect to interface modules for controlling household devices, appliances or systems. The Superna ControlWare software is capable of interfacing with INSTEON, Z-Wave, UPB, Vizia-RF, CentraLite, Global Caché and Nuvo systems. Two way INSTEON communications can be accomplished by connecting a PLM via the USB jack on the reverse of your PC. Z-Wave control can be established using a Z-Wave Adapter. Connecting a UPB interface module to the serial port of a PC running ControlWare via the UPB serial connectivity cable provides two-way UPB communication. Because the software allows your PC to communicate with several different interfaces, it is possible to send commands to several proprietary control devices from one computer. Scenes can now be created that will turn on a lamp to 50 percent via INSTEON, set the ceiling fan to 20 percent speed via UPB, draw the blinds via Vizia RF and turn on the radio to your favorite station with a Global Caché IR command.
Whole-House Digital Media DistributionThe Superna ControlWare software supports audio and video streaming of major formats from any PC on the home network running the software. Now you can easily watch a movie in the living room stored on the computer in the den or listen to audio files in the kitchen that are streaming from a PC in bedroom several rooms away. Simultaneous HD-quality streams over the regular home network are possible thanks to the high-speed processing of the Superna software. Supported video formats include: MPEG-2, MPEG-4, AVI, WMV, DIVX. Supported audio formats include: WMA, MP3, WAV, MPEG-4 AAC (Low Complexity, 5.1 Channels), AVI. Photos can even be viewed in JPEG, GIF, or PNG formats. Easily watch, manage and view audio files, video files and images from any wi-fi connected pc or device in your home. You can ever create customizable mixed-media playlists.
Setup, Installation and User InterfaceAll that's required to set up a home automation network is a wired or wireless network and ControlWare software. Your existing PC and ControlWare software are the only pieces necessary, with no special wiring needed. You can fully leverage your standard IP home network to connect legacy electronic devices to control lighting, HVAC, home control and delivery of digital audio/video content to any room in the house. No remodeling or rewiring of the house is necessary.
Universal Plug-n-Play ConnectivityThe ControlWare software converts any device connected to a PC running ControlWare software into a UPnP-compatible device. The UPnP protocol is an industry standard designed to enable simple and robust connectivity among stand-alone devices and PCs from many different vendors. A variety of devices are now available that can communicate with the ControlBox II using the UPnP standard including gateways, media servers, print devices, security consoles, and digital security cameras.
Superna Configuration SoftwareUse ConfigNet desktop software to configure and manage your Digital Home easily and to personalize your user interfaces. Using Superna software products, you can control and operate your ControlBox from various interface devices you already have such as PCs, UMPCs, PDAs, TVs, or Touch Panels.
