The Cortexa Controller may be accessed and controlled from any web browser connected to the Internet, so whether you're across town or on the other side of the world, you can check in on the status of your connected devices and adjust the temperature or turn off lights. For in-home access, control options include an in-wall touchscreen (available in black and white), a Mobile tablet, a TV interface, and even your Pocket PC PDA.
Just add the subsystem devices, such as light switches, thermostats, or your whole-house audio system. Control is accessed through a simple user interface complete with user-defined favorite buttons for one-click execution of any device or event. There is no need to learn a programming language to set up lighting scenes, adjust the temperature, access surveillance footage, or set any other action or series of actions. Valid selections are presented in simple drop-down boxes, so even complex events involving multiple subsystems can be set up in minutes. The Cortexa Controller even has a built-in router for controlling your home network.
Real-time weather updates are sent to the Cortexa via the Internet from your nearest weather station, so you can see detailed weather information through the user interface and incorporate this data into events. For example, your irrigation system can include current wind speed and recent rainfall data to ensure watering takes place only when required. Add additional devices or even subsystems at any time in the future, as your needs grow or budget allows.

The controller is fanless and features and all solid state design for superior reliability. The controller also manages your network and doubles as a music player: Part of the audio capability of the Cortexa system is a fully functional iTunes interface. Select playlists or individual songs to be played through the Cortexa Controller.
This base unit configuration includes support for up to eight subsystems. If you don't need to connect this many subsystems to your controller, try the 4-system and if you're not planning to include surveillance in your system, try the 4-system Cortexa Controller.
Software Updates:
Cortexa owners can update their software to the new version using the regular software update URL in the Software Updates page http://updates.cortexatechnology.com/updates/MyHome. Version: V4.07 Build 2623
Important changes to internal datafile handling corrects a variety of problems occasionally seen in very large configurations.
A 'Configuration Guard' option is provided in the Subsystem Setup page. When enabled, this prevents devices, events, or flags from being added or deleted from the system. You can enable this option to protect your system programming, but remember that you have to turn it off before you can add or remove devices, events, or flags.
Static flags can trigger events on the second interval, but only if they have a non-zero value. If a flag triggers an event, its value is then reset to 0 (to prevent accidental loops).
Security zone flags are now incremented and decremented.
